Can I bring my family on the bus?
Sorry, buses are only for students in grades 6-12.
Can you hold my reservation and I’ll pay on the bus?
Absolutely not. Reservations can only be made with payment and the seats will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Can I come on Tuesday and get a seat then?
We highly recommend you place a reservation. In the past, the buses have filled up well in advance of the event. You can come to the bus on Tuesday morning to wait and see if there are any “no-shows” but we make no guarantees there will be seats available.
What happens if I call and the buses are full?
We will put your name on a waiting list in case there are any cancellations before April 16. If there is enough interest and we can provide enough staff to meet NCSY safety procedures, we may order another bus and you will be called first.
What if I need to cancel?
If you cancel before April 15 your account will be refunded, minus a cancellation fee of $25. After April 15, there are no refunds.
How do I get on the bus?
The week before the event you will receive an “admission card” with your name and emergency contact information. Please make any necessary corrections. When you get to the bus, the advisor at the door will take the card. If you forget the card, you will have to go to the registration table where they will check your name on the list and you will fill in a new card to get on the bus.
Can I transfer my reservation to someone else?
This produces a safety issue as we are responsible for everyone we bring on the trip. If you “sell” your seat (which isn’t really fair to those on the waiting list), you must give that person your admission card and he/she should cross out your information and fill in their own.
What should I bring with me?
You bus admission card, a charged cell phone and a bottle of water. We suggest you travel light – Six Flags has a new policy that does not allow one to bring loose items, including purses, hats, cell phones, etc, into the line of the biggest coasters unless it is secured in cargo pockets that fasten with Velcro, a button flap or a zipper, a waist pack with a zipper closure or a zippered jacket pocket. If you have items, you will have to put them in a locker located at the start of the line for $1.00.
When do I get my ticket?
You will receive your ticket on the bus.
Can I bring food?
Six Flags policy does not allow outside food brought into the park and yes, they do enforce this policy at the gate. You can put food in a locker (limited quantities) at the gate or leave it on the bus which will stay in the parking lot.
Can I buy food there?
Kosher for Passover food is sold by Reuben’s Glatt Spot in the Old Country Section of the park. The Hashgacha is by Rabbi EM Teitz and they sell food such as hot dogs, chicken nuggets, etc. Please note that the other food in the park (for example, Coca Cola vending machines) is NOT covered by hashgacha.
What supervision does NCSY provide at the park?
Junior NCSYers (students in grades 6-8) are to walk around the park in groups of 6 or with an advisor. They also must “check-in” between 12:00 and 2:00 at the kosher picnic area with the Jr NCSY Administrator on duty. If they can not get to the picnic area (for example, on a long line for a ride) then may call in. This is the responsibility of the NCSYer.
What precautions do you have in case of an emergency?
Each NCSY will receive an emergency card on the bus with phone numbers for his bus advisor and senior NCSY staff who will be at the park. We will also have a list of parent phone numbers (from our files) in case of an emergency.
